Dave Smalley must think he's really special. Of course, with his history in the hardcore scene, I probably would think so, too. The only thing is, after Dag Nasty, it was all downhill. I still don't like Down By Law. I've given them chance after chance, and they have yet to impress me. The Sharpshooters, Dave's other band, don't sound much different from DBL in my opinion, and I tend to pass on them also. Luckily, Sam from Down By Law can write good music, which he does with ease with Pseudo Heroes. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
This dude needs to get his head out of Sam Williams ass. Down By Law OR DIE!!!!!! Though I've never been impressed with DBL, Smalley sung a lot of great tunes with ALL in the first days post-Milo. Even so, I consider the Smalley years to be ALL's worst. The guy's voice just gets annoying after a while. Down By Law is amazing, last of the sharpshooters and punkrockacademyfightsong are musts. DBL surpasses Dave's previous work. As much as Im looking forward to more dag nasty songs Im much more excited about Down by law recording a new album later this year. For having put out so many albums, they are almost tragically under rated. Yeah DBL rules, but these cover songs were just BAD. psuedo heroes are very good I see a lot of potential in them. Fickle fate is an awesome song. down by law has a few good songs, but yer right, most of them are unimpressive. Smalley's got a great voice. check out "questionmarks and periods" if you want a good dbl song. he really should sing more for ALL, cause those boys can write some great tunes.- fathead |
