I hope you've got some patience, because Khanate's Capture & Release will surely test it. Two songs, forty-three minutes, and the most minimal amount of instrumentation that a band could truly muster while still actually having some.

"I'm all for some heavy sludge and all that shit, but seroiusly, this is taking the piss. I seriously HAVE to live to see some scene kid "omg hxc dance" to this stuff, it should be the most hilarious thing ever." Khanate played a show with Threatener one time. Imagine that - Khanate, 18 minute songs, and Threatener, whose longest set ever hovered somewhere around 10 minutes. Anyone remember non compos or non compos mentis? They were fucking awesome. im kinda ont he fence about this record. i just have a feeling that a show would be excrutiating. I'm all for some heavy sludge and all that shit, but seroiusly, this is taking the piss. I seriously HAVE to live to see some scene kid "omg hxc dance" to this stuff, it should be the most hilarious thing ever. Doom/sludge fans must check out the band Cavity. This is the worst band. EVER. Hydra Head has put out some good releases, this ain't one of 'em. Cool stuff, but anyone with a decent recording program and a guitar could make this in the span of a couple of hours. For some reason, this band reminds me a bunch of 14 year old metalheads, all picking up instruments for the first time and reading how to play out of an instruction book. The guitarist is leafing through his book until he gets to the part that gives some basic chords, so he looks down at the frets and spends 20 seconds getting his fingers just right, then hitting the chord once. Proceed to find another chord, slowly reposition fingers again, and play that one. Repeat for 15-25 minutes, and voila! You've got a song. One step away from being signed to a record label. Did this come out before or after Capture/Release by The Rakes? anchors, whats your thought on sunn0))? | Features
