I don't think there is a band out there that can blend thrashy, straightforward knock you on your ass speed and melodic riffs that would support the vocals of someone like Zoli from Ignite like Kill Your Idols does, at least musically speaking. This band is one of those bands that was a breath of fresh air when they started touring, at least for some of the older kids like myself who were beginning to wonder if every band out was going to be just another boring old-school revival band, which was the trend at the time.

if you like this record, check out No Gimmicks Needed by Kill your idols. Its a full length, that just blasts right by. one of the most underrated bands ever. I saw these guys years ago. Great Live Show. the first few times i saw these guys i hated them but they grew on me as my taste in hardcore changed. the split with the nerve agents is what changed it i think. check it out if you haven't heard it what is with hardcore bands, and the token fat singer. great stuff and at least a good hardcore band that has enough pride not to use any metal I love this cd. I've been a fan for a long time, and I totally agree that From Companionship to Competition is head and shoulders above everything else they've done. What an awesome fucking record it is. I meant to give this a 7. This is a good band and a pretty good record but truth be told I think "From Companionship To Competition" overshadows everything else they've done. It's so fucking good I pick it over any of their other albums almost every time. never been disappointed with a kyi album. Best band ever this band has sucked since like 2000. hang it up already. I love this band but the early stuff gets kind of boring after a few songs. I have this as a 10" and i'm always tempted to just not play the second side of it. KYI may be the most underrated hardcore/punk band going. |
