After really sitting down with repeated listens for the album, I’ve come to a conclusion. Unless you’ve never heard A Day in Black & White previous to Notes, you have to approach it a very certain way. You must completely forget that this is their third release. Don’t acknowledge the split with Black Castle, don’t acknowledge My Heroes Have Always Killed Cowboys, and just start the band on a completely fresh and clean slate.

i think he meant that the blood brothers do in fact suck "Well, at least it's better than that really early demo they had out about 3,000 years ago that sounded way too much like the blood brothers. YUUUUUUUUCK" If you want to hear good rock listen to Waxwing and Riddle of Steel. Oh, and Q and Not U. Actually I'm 24 and like lots of different stuff. How dare you diss City of Caterpillar. They were great, even if you don't like them. I understand differences in taste, but you can't shit on a band for being good even if they don't fall into your particular genre. Actually I'll just listen to ADIBAW's older stuff, some Envy, some Amanda Woodward, some Gantz, and then some Radiohead just to spite you. Thanks anonymous ... ... To the kid below me; who cares city of caterpillar sucks donkey balls. grow up! lol thats what i was thinking too yeah, city of caterpillar is SOOOOO fast. good review for a good cd and band. you are dumb. this record is SO much better. im assuming you are 14 if you like loud fast screamo hardcore crap. the new songs are much more mature and structured. go listen to some shitty city of caterpillar. I think their old stuff is waaaaaay better. It was so close to an American Envy. I also saw the video for this album - and it almost put me to sleep. Just because you get slower doesn't make you better. Sure it's more difficult to write structured songs, but this shit is downright boring. But this is post Osker to boredom. Well it's not that bad, but damn they were so good. P.S. post Osker is amazing. Aka Fingers Cut. I like this album a lot. They played it excellent last time I saw them too. Well, at least it's better than that really early demo they had out about 3,000 years ago that sounded way too much like the blood brothers. YUUUUUUUUCK. im glad people are finally realizing how good this record is. there best material by far. good review. great record. hats off to morse & co. for changing and evolving despite lots of criticism from the screamo crowd for it. i love this band. This band is just flat out really fucking good... real honest music and thats all there is to it. It's going to take me a REALLY long time to accept this record for what it is. But I'm willing to give it a shot. I really wanted something akin to "My Heroes Have Always Killed Cowboys" but once I started listening to this album repeatedly I realized the change was for the best. Good stuff. Kurt from Converge produced this too, that kind through me off. I bought this album a week or so ago, I knew they "moved on" from their previous style, but god damn what a change, it wasnt really a good or bad change. It's an alright album, it just requires a few spins of What the Fuck, to actaully get into it. Yeah, some decent DC-ish stuff, gets boring at times though. I'm more interested in their older stuff now from what I've heard. |
