Whoa! That’s right -- I’m putting my cred (yeah, right) on the line. I’m saying it. Terror is going to be one of those consistently dependable bands that every music fan needs. Always the Hard Way is the Los Angeles’ band’s second full-length, adding to a small, but impressive collection of EPs and splits. For anyone familiar with their previous work, such as the stellar 2002 EP Lowest of the Low and 2004’s One with the Underdogs, the band’s latest effort won’t be a surprise. What can I say -- it sounds like Terror. For those who aren’t in the know, Terror plays a ferocious blend of metal and hardcore. They often come really close to falling knee-deep into tough guy, and get their feet wet with it a few times. But heck, listen to this stuff and you’ll see that it’s an accomplishment to avoid a 100% tough guy takeover. Despite the nearly-constant double-bass drum pummeling, there’s some real melody hiding somewhere in there along with loads of opportunities for fist-pumping, finger-pointing sing-alongs. However, what makes Terror stand out from the pack -- besides the clear conviction and honesty in what they do -- is that if you don’t take the few negative aspects of them too seriously, you can have a lot of fun with Always the Hard Way. Hey,I lift as well, but no amount of sterioids and protein shakes have made me such a meathead that I'm gonna start listening to this brocore shit. anyone that says the term "meathead" is just jealous their dedication. these "hardcore" kids have no idea how hardcore the sport of bodybuilding rly is. i have a gym membership, one with the underdogs is one of my favorite workout cds, madball doesn't suck, and wtf do bitch bands like evergreen terrace have to do w/ a band like terror. You guys are idiots. This stuff is so blah. great cd Posted by Cos on 2006-08-29 14:49:52 first blood are way more boring and generic than terror. hatebreed rules harder than terror does. In a recent review where first blood got slated when opened for someone (could've been sick of it all), no one even slightly defended them, but half of the comments on this new terror record is positive? Terror rules, you kids just need to get the sand outta your ginas this band is fucking awful. how can anyone take this shit seriously? score is for how over-rated this band is Trailer Park Boys best seasons were probably the first 3, the last 3 have been decent, but no where near as good. Casualties are bad in a good way, Terror are just bad in a bad way. Fuck these fuckers and their fans. Gym memberships are not punk rock or hardcore. Somethings I'll never understand... i liked "Push It Away" off their first EP and then I lost interest in this band really fast. Very generic, they're better than Hatebreed though...that doesn't say a lot. Which song does Eddie sing on though? I'd like to hear that the use of the term "tough guy" to describe a genre is hilarious. Ilu. And I meant Posi Numbers Fest I've listened to a fair amount of this band, and I just can't get into anything that is 90% dropped D or C power chords. Or even worse, just straight open palm muting. "throwdown is a 'tough guy' band. terror is not. this is 2006. not every band wants to or needs to try and sound like 80's youth crew. that shit gets just as old as modern breakdown tough guy shit." the artwork makes this look like a cro mags album. a.80s youth crew is alot better than this kinda music. the ignorance amazes me. Terror-ble. Tom Cruise jokes aren't funny anymore. slayer will always sound like slayer This review's pretty spot on, if you've heard terror you get no suprises, but thats not such a bad thing. Its not like anyone was expecting some mars volta epic masterpiece. you mean blah core I remember them sounding a lot like early Earth Crisis. This is brah core. Pfffffffff....I've heard worse, but these guys are nothing special. I've listened to maybe one song by this band, and it sounded like standard tough-guy. Maybe I'll give them another chance because I love their name. fuck this tough guy shitcore, if i ever ran into these guys on the street i would spit in their face and give them a swift kick in the nuts, that's assuming they have any One other certainty: this reviewer is a fucking moron. score is for trailer park boys This review doesn't really gived to much information. I think there are differences between this and their previous albums. Plus theres a hip hop song on it, which if you like or not seperates any repetitiveness. and it has a sexy hass player on it ;) i really liked lowest of the low. i thought one with the underdogs was alright, but i just couldn't bring myself to listening to this album. they've just gotten too stagnant for me...but i still enjoy them live. fucking good album..even better live.. this review is bad. Fucking jocks. this is your run of the mill tough guy shit isn't it? They still can't top their first EP. I really got bored of this band. Which song does Eddie sing on though? I'd like to hear that. After reading this review I would like to ask, what does this band sound like? What does the album sound like? Drunk as fuck, drunk as FUCK! i know this band gets alot of shit but theyre pretty damn good IMO this was a lot better than one with the underdogs. review forgot to mention the song with eddie leeway singin on it. |
