For emo pop, This Providence showed a pretty masterful wit on their first full-length, 2004's Our Worlds Divorce. Sure, there was plenty of influence from contemporaries, but something about it put the band a notch above said contemporaries, and hinted at the potential to be much, much more than that.

Love the whole album......As far as being a Gatsby's influenced album? I hear everything from The Beatles and U2 to anything modern day. If anything, TP has a cleaner, tighter and more understandable musicality than the many of their peers. There are many incredibly talented musicians out, don't get me wrong. It just happens that (I.M.H.O.) four of the many are in This Providence. I'm actually really liking this album. I didn't realize until recently just how influential Gatsby's American Dream has been on the Seattle scene. What a cool band. Lifetime are on Decayadance arer they not? Either way Pete Wentz has bent cock in both labels work whenever the lifetime record drops. Lets take bets on when a Fueled by Ramen album will score higher than a 4. Its seems impossible now.
