Oh boy, dreadlocks and all...this was a true turning point for 7 Seconds....A pretty hard rocking band up until that point in time, But as we all know bands change, sometimes for the better, and sometimes for the worse.

If you haven't heard this record yet..do NOT expect the same 7 seconds your accustomed to. Trust me, you'll be feeling all kinds of different vibes from this one.

Actually, the music itself on this record is very difficult to explian, so bare with me here. The same 7 seconds attitude..but with elements of rasta, surf, and other things you sense differently. Its much more melodic than anything they have ever done before, and way more emotional..I mean a band has to explore their soft sides, so its all cool.

Its definitley a hit with me, as I've always said its cool when bands open up their minds and explore exactly how much talent they have, and 7 seconds have done just that. It's definitley my favorite just for the fact of the different route of emotion they've taken here.

But to get into this album you have to go a little deeper than just the music...you have to look at the well thought lyrics ( they get your noggin working believe me) and the great song structures, and Kevin Seconds has one of the best voices in punk...ever.

One of my (first) and favorite records I own Just truly a landmark album..forget all that pee pee poo poo booger fart humor crap rock for one day ( not meaning that towards all of you) and give this a listen. It really gets you thinking and hopefully turns your head to one of the best punk bands to ever come around in a long time.

I bought this album like 6 years ago, listenend to it once or twice and haven't listened to it since. I think I will try to give it a chance, and listen to it again after this review.
My favorite 7 Seconds album is Walk Together, Rock Together. I find it to be their catchiest ...
I finally got to see these guys live about a year ago, and it was fucking amazing. They couldn't leave, the crowd just wouldn't let them. They ended up taking requests after their two encores, and were playing with the lights on as the venue dudes obviously wanted them to leave... Kid Dynamite, Snapcase and Buried Alive opened so the show was fucking kickass from beginning to end.

My most recent ranking of 7 seconds albums goes like this:
1. New Wind
2. The Crew
3. Soulforce Revolution
4. Walk Together, Rock Together
5. Ourselves
6. Good to Go
7. The Music, The Message
8. Out the Shizzy
(of course, this list changes quite often).... This album is absolutely fantastic. Satyagraha is my all-time favorite 7 seconds song, and the rest of the album is amazing. It's not as good as New Wind or The Crew, but it comes close.

i think this, along with "ourselves", was when they did their best songwriting. definitely different. it's a great album on a different level from their older (and even newer) stuff. 7 seconds just can't make a bad record.

I love "Satyagraha," but the rest of the album is kind of hit and miss. If you want to hear the best stuff later 7seconds did, check out "Out the Shizzy." It seriously sounds like Nirvana, but it's awesome.

I bought this CD for a buck, hoping I'd found a diamond in the rough. I ended up hating it to death. I found this to be the most boring excuse for music, and while I tend to love off-kilter punk bands (Mission of Burma, Fugazi, Meat Puppets, Minutemen) I found this to be tedious and annoying. But that is just my opinion, and if you found something in this record that I didn't, then I guess its my loss.
