Perhaps we should be ashamed if the first thing we think of as Irish music is U2. And only U2. What else does the potato-eating, Leprechaun-toting, beer-soaked motherland have to offer musically? Traditional folk music? Indeed, I can boast two brothers donning shamrock tattoos in honor of their Celtic heritage. And as an Irishman, I still cannot come up with any Irish bands, let alone punk-related, beyond Bono and boys. Alright, alright, Sinead O’Connor, the Cranberries, Thin Lizzy and the Pogues call Ireland home. That still leaves a void where punk is concerned.

New EP out in April www.myspace.com/20bullseach played with these guys, pretty sweet band, my old band did a split with em aswell, after id left tho. wierd to see em on here www.myspace.com/20bullseach too apparently Northern Ireland counts as Ireland...it's got "Ireland" right there in the name. And SLF were one of the best punk bands ever. They basically did the first Clash LP 4 or 5 times, but every time was better than the Clash themselves. technically Still Little Fingers are from Northern Ireland, UK, not the Republic. uh.....STIFF LITTLE FINGERS! actually, aren't the pogues from london? just because they play celtic punk doesn't mean they're from ireland. you don't see anybody mentioning the dropkicks or flogging molly do ye? As an Irishman you can only name a handful of Irish artists? This band sounds good, no ones heard of The Frames? Easily the best band from Ireland |
