I went to the same tour, I went to the show at the Glass House in Pomona.

Time Again sucked.
AAA the band I went to go see, blew my mind.
VGS awesome and the same as the 100times I've seen them before.
They came on stage with some weird intro thing, "I am I am"
that's been driving me nuts not knowing what it was....

Every jam band ever. Doesn't make it good.

I have about 15 live bootleg shows. Sublime was one of the few punk bands that could really improvise, i mean REALLY improvise and Bradley was a master of pulling lyrics out of thin air. There aren't many bands out there who can compose a setlist of Bad Religion, Bob Marley, Bad Brains, Grateful Dead, and Dee Dee Warwick and make them all sound original. For most punk bands, you can record a whole tour of shows and all the songs will sound the same. But with Sublime, it was something different every night.

check out A Day in the Sun or The Palace, those are some of the best live Sublime bootlegs.

Would you get mad at a writer who quoted somebody else to get a point across? Would you talk down to a public speaker for quoting somebody to emphasize something? No. So why would you get mad at a band for quoting other bands' lyrics in their songs?

You know, seeing as how the majority of those are straight up covers, (many of which were played live only once and never in the studio), that isn't much of an addendum to the suckage of Sublime. If anything, that proves how diverse their influences and range was. Besides, all of Sublime's best songs (ie Pool Shark, Same in the End, Paddle Out, Date Rape, Seed) were wholly original anyway.

As impressed as I am at your ability to use a dictionary, "chic" and "heroin chic" are different things. They're also usually used to highlight different positive aspects of someone's appearance.
As I recall it, the first time the phrase "heroin chic"(hardly positive) entered my world was when it was used to describe the calvin klein ads of the mid to early 90s.
Again, no one forced you to read it. And if you want perfect grammar, school starts again in a week.

voodoo glow skulls are amazing. i don't understand why they get ragged on all the time. the lyrics are the weakest link, but their horn section is relentless.

I agree with this review. I had to watch Time Again open for the Briggs a few months ago, they were fucking awful. Voodoo glow Skulls have a few good songs but are basically mediocre. In my opinion AAA is probably the most underated punk band that is still together and they should definetely have headlined this show.

Uh, if you "love" "real ska" then you'd know that everyone does a ton of covers in that scene, and always have, from 1960s Jamaica through today. It's not a big deal- and if their best tunes turn out to be their versions of classic songs, so what? Their version of Monkey Man is definitive, just like the Clash's version of Wrong Embryo (they did it as Wrong Em Boyo) takes the original song to a different level.

Besides, look at the great originals on their first record: Too Much Too Young, Gangsters, Dawning of a New Era, Blank Expression, Nite Klub, Concrete Jungle...

P.S.- You know that this tangent has nothing to do with this review. The reviewer didn't say that these bands were better or worse than two-tone or Jamaican ska.

This review was an entertaining read...

Not a "great" review though by technical standards, it's easy for any random person to criticize but hey I was amused reading it and enjoyed the effort.

About 40% of all traffic related deaths are due to alcohol. What does this tell us? The drunk drivers are still beating the sober drivers! It sounds to me like the drunks are getting a bad rap here.

In Minneapolis the Time Again singer started blabbing awkwardly about how he had to drink water to keep his voice good... since he was updating us on his status, I shouted out, "I poop too much! Then I get tired". and then he made fun of my friends and I for standing near the back with our arms crossed (we were there for the flatliners).

Then I found out that my sister-in-law's hairdresser's sister is getting married to that dude... but the hairdresser thinks Time Again sucks.

Time Again is a good band, they play good music, the lead singer is kind of stupid but the other members are rad. Listen to "Cold Concrete" and "Kenny." I went to this show in Oregon and it was a blast. Score is for that show.

No, it tells us that an overwhelming majority of driving is done sober, and as such the statistics accord more accidents to sober people than drunk people, despite the increased likelihood of getting into one when you're drunk. Learn to not be stupid, yah.

35% of accidents are caused by pixilated
the other 65% are not alcohol related
what does this tell us about the drunk drivers?
they seem to have a better record than the sober team

Score is for AAA. I saw them last month with Time Again, and I have to agree that Time Again are fucking terrible. Sorry guys, you blow.

Also, AAA is recording ALREADY in February. So, a new album should be out summer '07!!!
