| The Blood Brothers / Celebrationlive in New York2007 live show Review by: Brian See others by this writer The Blood Brothers (link) Only registered users can post comments Published on April 6th 2007
The Blood Brothers has toured with a number of celebrated acts in recent years, including acts like the critically acclaimed Cursive and ...Trail of Dead, as well as cult phenoms like Against Me!, Glassjaw, AFI, Coheed and Cambria, and even American Nothing (during American Nightmare/Give Up the Ghost's brief clip with that in-between name) at one point. Suffice it to say, the band could often be counted on for a diverse but notable bill. However, they can still be counted on to help out their more obscure friends and place them before crowds that now reach up to a good thousand in some of the Brothers' markets.

I LOVE The Blood Brothers but the set list........................................they dont NEED to play old songs from Crimes and Burn Piano Burn casue its their setlist but it would be real nice if did .....im even about to go see them this sunday at so I hope the list changes soon even if they dont ill be glad to even SEE tbb Oh, and the Toronto set list was the EXACT same. That's lame. I may be a rabid Blood Brothers fan, but I saw this tour in Toronto and left feeling like Johnny Whitney may practice his vocal recordings 100X before finding the right one. Score is for Johnny's shitty performance. Yuck. The new album isn't as deep.. kinda out there.... I wonder if the drummer for Celebration knocks off the crash cymbal on purpose. He did it when I saw this show in Milwaukee, too. I wanted to see this show in Philly, but the friend who was supposed to take me got Tonsillitis and couldn't go. Would have been great to see them, but I haven't listened to the new album that much. i think every band should balance their setlists with old and new weighing in about equally. no peacock song or whatever it called? ..and the Blood Brothers have toured with Against Me!??! ..and the Blood Brothers have toured with Against Me!??! What's wrong with playing nine songs off of Young Machetes? Do they play "Fuckings Greatest Hits" anymore? 3 songs off Burn Piano Island "Love Rhymes With Hideous Car Wreck" I liked their new album much better after hearing the songs live--especially Lift the Veil, Kiss the Tank and Huge Gold AK-47. awesome. Ugh. Sounds like they played waaaay too much off the not-so-good new album. That's pretty much the same setlist Cleveland got, too, although I think order in the beginning was a little different (and we didn't get "Guitarmy") -- I think they opened with "Set Fire To The Face On Fire," if I recall correctly. I was at this show. It was awesome. agreed, don't know though. Do they play "Fuckings Greatest Hits" anymore? Man that's an awesome set. When I saw that it was similar, but didn't start out with Guitarmy. Celebration suck...worst waste of time ever. Pretty sweet setlist, though in my experience, when they play "Cecilia" the band tends to throw in about 2-3 minutes of noise during the breakdown. Can't wait to see this show in a couple weeks. |
