My memory vaguely recalls So Many Dynamos playing slightly electro-tinged, heart-on-the-sleeve indie pop only a couple years ago. So you can imagine it was a bit surprising when, in a still-the-black-sheep slot opening for HORSE the Band in Brooklyn I watched the high-energy band thrash about wildly on stage to more intense, complex and completely bugged out indie pop/rock songs. Once I was settled into the spastic, compelling set, my full impression was that of...impressiveness, really.

i can't seem to find this CD anywhere in my local shops, but if its better than "When I Explode" I'm there! Oh my god guys! i got aaron stovall from this band's phone number! call him up and talk to him about the dismemberment plan and green day!! How dare you call dipshit "jokey"!? I can't believe someone mentioned Dipshit. Their drummer, Sean fucking Joyce, is a mad man. I goddamn mad man, I say! the drummer of this band is creepy Sounding like the Dismemberment Plan is a good thing in this day and age. These guys are really good live. I went to school with the singer before he graduated...he was a cool guy and also played guitar in this jokey hardcore punk band called Dipshit...anyway I always thought these guys were better live than on CD This band is great, they're a blast live, and everyone should get all of their material. Agreed. They really do sound exactly like Is Terrified-era D-Plan. This sounds identical to the Dismemberment Plan, ca. !/Is Terrified. It's pretty good for a straight D Plan rip, but what's the point when you could just listen to the real thing? |
