Ah, Social Distortion in New Jersey. This was the second show of their stay, added on for all the slackers who weren’t on top of getting tickets for the first one before it sold out. I guess here is where I’m supposed to review the Heart Attacks, but since I’m such a responsible citizen and have a job, I had to miss ‘em.

I wish this band would play songs off White Light, White Heat, White Trash live. The first time I saw them was on Warped Tour '97 and their set was almost completely that album, and it was totally awesome. It didn't hurt that Chuck Biscuits was playing drums and he was a fucking madman. Yeah they played Story of my Life in Champaign, IL. It was a really good show except for the first two bands. Sometimes I do is really good live, never really liked it until I heard it live. I don't think I was called a conformist since around 7th grade. Punx d00d "The band played too well"? That's a first. How come little bitches who review punk are almost always more pompous than a New York Times film critic? Go back to your dorm at NYU, you sawed off little conformist. i refused to pay the ticket price for that show. fucking highway robbery Pretty much the same set as when I saw them a few weeks ago but they played 6 more miles from the solo album which was pretty cool. Good review Torgo. I've never seen Social D live, but this review gave me a good idea of what it'd be like. "Why they didn't make it to Manhattan, the home of Punk boggles my mind.. NYC should be able to support punk rock better than that. Shouldn't have to travel to Long Island or NJ to see a band like Social D." They gotta play Story of My Life. That's like Dylan not playing Like A Rolling Stone. On that note, they should just rewrite SOML like Dylan does LARS if they are so tired of playing it as is...but you gotta play your tradmark songs, that's why people pay good money come out. Saw them in Long Island and it was the best I have seen yet (I've seen Social D 5 times in the last 3 years, two times in the past month). Caught this on Long Island. A friend of a friend had an interesting theory on the Hangmen - that they seemed very boy-band put-together-ish. I've never seen Social D. Do they play Dear Lover live? I love that song. nice review, it lacked the mostly oh so hip, Rolling Stone pretentious vibe which many reviews on this site seem to have. Also great setlist, i'm glad they're playing stuff off Sex, Love and Rock ‘n’ Roll... but no "Don't Drag Me Down"?!?!?!?!?!!? Almost the same setlist as when I saw this tour. excellent review! They left out "Story of My Life" when I saw 'em last fall, as well. Too bad. $$$? great set-list |
