I went to this show by surprise. I’ve never heard Tiger Army’s Music up until then and I’ve only briefly heard Sick of it All’s music. As for the Dropkick Murphys, I know of them, but I only know a couple of songs by them. So this became a night of new experiences for me. Please login or register to post comments. sick of it all does the crown splitting thing i witnessed it last night you're all bastards. i still don't know who did the crowd splitting thing, was it tiger army or dropkick murphys? tell us!!! hey wait a minute, was it SOIA or DKM that did the split the crowd thing? i'm not sure which it was, could someone please clarify that for me? Sick Of It All split the crowd into two sides and made them run and hug eachother not DKM! I went to all the California shows so I pretty much know what happened. Alcohol is a gangreen song. Not No fun at all. No fun at all raped that tune.... This has nothing to do with anything, but reading a Dropkick Murphy's review reminded me of the night I saw them with Lars and the Bastards and Reach the Sky at Bogarts in Cincinnati. Our friendly Bogarts staff, accidentally switched the draft beer lines, so instead of drinking some cheap domestic crap, I was really drinking some more expensive domestic crap (Rolling Rock, I think), which actually lit me up bad! My final hazy memory of that evening was seeing some huge sweaty skinhead running out of the pit and puking his guts out. I slobbered something at him about how the Dropkick's should do a Cock Sparrer cover. He said, "Definitely", puked again, and ran back into the pit. Oh well. Anyway... it was much funnier than that but I'm tired of typing. yeah, like 3 people have said that already Hey if anyone cares, it was sick of it all that did the splitting of the crowd, not dropkick murphys. They played a great range of songs....Injustice System, Blown Away, Future is Mine, Hello Pricks, Disco Sucks F**K Everything, and a ton more. I'm there dude, HWM is in RVA on the 11th, Social D on the 12th. Butter. 9;30 What club in dc? Black Cat, Nation or 9:30? I saw the show in dc,and tiger army was killer, soia was good, and dropkick had old school punk rock down packed. Watch for social d on the 12th in dc. One of the best shows I had seen this year was SOIA, F2F, and Snapcase at Ziggy's in Winston Salem...Then cut to 3 months later at the same venue where SOIA, Boy Sets Fire and the Hope Conspiracy played..one of the worst. All are great bands but it seems SOIA, just did not have the energy They had 3 months prior. I was doing "the hug thing" years ago..... way before your time. AFI is a joke. Oh damn.. i wasnt logged in for my comment... the last comment was made by pat41 The Dropkick Murphys are my favorite band ever. So naturally when they played Worcester MA i had to go. I had never seen them before and was way too excited for my own good. I threw down a few beers and a couple rum and cokes, was feeling pretty good so we proceeded to the palladium. Mad bands played before Tiger army even came on at 7-ish. The Pug Uglies, The Unseen, Reach the Sky, and many more opened up this years Back To School Jam. Tiger Army came on and while they are a good band they didnt impress me with there live act. The stand up bass was impressive but the guy from the Living End impressed me much more with his showmanship on the upright. Sick of it all was just what the first word in their name says.... Sick! Ive never really listened to them and what i did hear didnt make me a fan but they are fucking amazing live. Then of course the dropkick murphys came on.... oh jeez i almost fucking had a heart attack. they opened with For Boston, a remake of the BC fight song. A great opening song too. A lot of heart and a TON of energy was put into just the first song so i knew it was oging to be a great show. Before i knew it some kid was asking me to hold up the flag with him then head to the stage with it. That was the most amazing experience of my life. Being on the same stage as Ken Casey, Al Barr, Matt Kelley and the rest of the Murphys was just in-fucking-credible. The Murphys played songs from their new album as well as a few from older albums like, faraway coast, barroom hero, and boys on the docks. They also did a cover of a minor threat song. I cant think of the name of the song right now but it got the crowd going (well the ones that knew minor threat). As the show was coming to a close they asked everybody to put their arms around eachother while they sang good rats. Before you knew it, half the crowd was joining the murphys on stage to sing the song. Then when good rats was over, i knew it was coming and i started FLIPPING out... i heard the intro to Skinhead on the MBTA, skinhead for short. That song gets me fucking pumped like nothing else... its the best song by them and possibly my favorite song ever. As I looked out into the crowd to spot my friend I knew that this was one of the best times of my life. In my own defense, I wrote review because that was the agreement: I go to show, I write review. Costed me absolutely nothing but a few minutes of my time. I was tired when writing and I did make a mistake about soia's hug thing. I apologize for that. i wasnt mad at the person who did this. But they did a extreemly bad job describing it. It was an amazing show that deserved more. I wasnt calling anyone a mall punk. I was just stating that there should have been more description on all the bands and their songs. and SOIA did the splitting of the crowd. I hate all 3 of these bands...i must be a mall punk yes, glad you had fun and all, but why is this review posted? it's not bad, but i was expecting more when i clicked on it. Yeah all of you people need to fuck off and get lives. So this person had never heard these bands before, big fucking deal. I dont own a single SOIA, Dropkick or Tiger Army CD,and Im definitely not a "mall punk". If you read the other review this person did, you will see that they are familiar with Further seems Forever, the Selby Tigers, etc. Who are you people, the punk police? - CG on the deconstruction tour in europe sick of it all did this spliting-the-audience-in-two-sides-thing...soia are a great live band, not so we-need-to-be-super-hard-mad-hardcore-guys-guys...the review was kinda funny... good to hear you had fun, but how could you have never heard anything from any of these bands? it's not like they're really even underground punk bands at all... yeah sick of it all were the people who did the hug thing Thats crazy, I left San Diego the day of this show. I should have taken a flight the next morning. Damn. that was the WORST review ever. I saw this show in kansas city and it was awesome. You did a terrible job describing all of the bands. This show was worth 1000 words, one of the best ive been to. if you knew nothing of the bands, then why'd you post a review of the show? |
