When I first listened to this album there was something very familiar about it that I couldn’t exactly place. Looking at the bands Overview has played with in the past, I discovered Portugal. The Man to be among them, and that is when it clicked. Overview’s debut EP mines a similar sort of eclectic, progressive, slightly Zeppelin-influenced indie rock that that band does.

was best friends with the singer in elementary and middle school. great guy. great music. check out their album "the virgin misconception" I do merch for these guys at a lot of hometown shows up here in the Bay Area. GREAT, fun guys. A real good record, but it's even better when listening to the prior two releases (2004's The Current Feelings of Later Days & 2006's The Virgin Misconception) and seeing how much they've grown. Really worth checking out. I met these guys in Denton TX when they played there. Nice guys. Their singer reminded me of Travis Morrisson of Dismemberment Plan. Cool band. |
