While Pelican may receive all the press for their semi-ambient, intricate pieces of instrumental metal, three of the members do time in another project which is arguably better worth a listener's time. That project, Tusk, has actually put out several releases, but now finds themselves joined by Young Widows' Evan Patterson and Kayo Dot's Toby Driver on their newest, The Resisting Dreamer, for a new method of dark and heavy sonic exploration.

If you like this band, check out a band called Ulcerate. This album is really short but feels long, or the other way around. Either way, I want more from them. These guys first record was amazing same with this and get ready everything thse guys touch is awesome. Glad to see they didnt forget about this band. Holy shit I'm first. I ordered this cd but haven't received it. I have their first LP which wasn't very good, but Get Ready was fucking amazing. Their earlier stuff doesn't really sound like Pelican, but I guess after a couple of years between albums your sound can change. Crazy, I know. Can't wait to hear this. Score is for Get Ready. | Features
