Published on November 11th 2001 Perhaps Alkaline Trio's best work to date, "I Lied My Face Off," is a compiliation of four alcohol driven ballads about relationships and happiness. With all of the original members of Alkaline Trio, this EP is raw, driven, and melodic at the same time. The first song, "Goodbye Forever," was the first song I ever heard by Alkaline Trio. Brilliant. One of my favorite songs to date. The next track, "This Is Getting Over You," features Dan Andriano on vocals. Near the end of the song, Matt Skiba enters blending angelic voices together and creating a sound that they have yet to capture to this date. The lyrics are so electifying, that if you listen to them at the right time, they can make you cry. Third song, "Bleeder," captures different feelings for different people. Look for this acoustic on their split with Hot Water Music. (That's what I hear anyway.) Finally, perhaps Alkaline Trio's signature balid of happieness, drinking, and relationships, I Lied My Face Off hit's you with something you've been waiting for this entire EP. With striking lyrics, you don't recover and this leaves you hanging for me. The only solution: Listen to this EP many times. With all of the original members of Alkaline Trio you dumb asshole it's not the original members of the trio here. if it was, rob would be the bassist. fucking cuntrag i swear. oh yeah if anyone has this vinyl please tell me im willing to pay large amounts of money for it. oh yeah if anyone has this vinyl please tell me im willing to pay large amounts of money for it. Best Best ALk3 CD... To bad i cant find the 7" to it. but this CD is basically on someday im going to review a shitty album too... but ill give it a shitty rating too anyone notice there is a slick shoes album with the exact same cover as this one except the flames are blue? yeah, think about it. um, someone just said this, but no it wasn't their original lineup... hey, ummm, when you said it has all the original members, i know you meant it has glenn on drums instead of mike felumlee or the suicide machines guy they have now, but this MOST definitely did NOT have the original members, as Dan was not an original member. Their first bass player was not Dan. this is just great, 4 wonderful songs, everybody should listen to this! I think I need to put up my vinyl copy on eBay to pay for Christmas presents. Anyone want to make me an early offer? It's in perfect condition. this record is incredible. absolutly incredible. it's a good think i walked into a vinyl store and saw it sitting there. muahah. 5 dollars. but i'd pay more than that for this incredible record. No doubt the Trio is emotional, but I wouldn't call this emo. It's way too genuine for that. this ep rules. i just got $50 for my vinyl copy of it on ebay. oh yea i forgot again.. i give it a 4 AK3 are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO emo. Most emo is not bad but this stuff gets to me. I dont know what to think of it. I like some but dont like others... *sniff* i think i need a tissue *sniff* |
