Goddammit I love the Voodoo Glow Skulls. Why? Because I like unique bands. I like crazy motherfucking bands. And well VGS is nothing but a unique crazy motherfucking band.

VGS released this LP in 1997 and while it's far from their best, it's guaranteed they're craziest. To my knowledge, the VGS sound has not been adapted by any other band out there. Sure there's bands with horns that play ska/punk or Latino ska/punk! But not one of them sound exactly like VGS and most of them can't match the energy produced at one of their shows.

I don't know about you but I have to watch what I listen to when I drive. I don't like old people. I don't like cab drivers. Veterans are remarkably slow and I hate kids who have a " system " in their cars blasting Ludicris, rattling their windows. Somehow all these people get together and get in front of me when I'm in a rush. What's playing in my car stereo determines whether or not I'm going to be a sane, courteous law abidding citizen. I can't and refuse to listen to VGS in my car.

Baile de Los Locos starts with the craziest horn section your delicate ears have ever heard. VGS have somehow changed their sound to where the horns play like guitars throughout the whole song, instead of in intrervals. For most the songs are fast paced but some slow down to their version of mellow ska and rocksteady that still sounds crazy and fast paced. For even more ear candy check out VGS's Who Is This Is.

Ummm....did no one notice that all the vocals on this album are sung at the exact same pitch? Every song? Not that that's necessarily a bad thing; I just thought it would be kind of essencial information in a review.

Falling out of a tree must really suck. But not as much as a tree falling out of you. OW!

My least favorite VGS album, but cool anyway. One of the most unique and original band out there.

You're close Fathead, as those are shitty bands, but the worst band ever would have to be the Tea Party. God damn they suck ass. VGS are good, but this isn't their best album, not bad though. Firme and Who Is, This Is are fucking great.

no way exhaustra, the worst band ever is easily the Eagles, or possibly Papa Roach. VGS, on the other hand, is a unique blend of metal and ska, and the rock. some of their shit gets a little dumb, but Firme is still awesome.- fathead

if i could give VGS a 'zero' i would. quite possibly the worst band ever.

I'd have to say if there is such thing as a "Hardcore" ska-core band these guys are it. And your right about the horns being played like a guitar. While VGS might not be the originaters of the punk with horns genere the sure do perfect it. I'd have to say Firme or Symbolic is the best though.
