Since the release of their first two albums, 1982's Kill 'Em All and 1984's Ride the Lightning, Metallica has been hailed as one of the most important thrash metal bands to come out of the United States, along with Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Exodus, Testament, Suicidal Tendencies and many others.

Amazing album. These guys were fucking incredible in their prime. I would kill to have been in my twenties when Metallica, Slayer, Testament, Atheist, Maiden and million other awesome bands were touring in small clubs. The album is SO GOOD i'll give it a 5 even though The Thing That Should Not Be is pretty terrible. Piece nice, haha. I meant PEACE. Oh yeah Orion is fucking amazing too, probably one of my favorite songs ever. Great Review. Perfect Album. I still say it's better than Rust In Piece, I like Megadeth but I don't think that album is as perfect as people think. Oh well. To each his or her own, Dave is still killing it and we all know Metallica is a joke now. You didn't even mention the song "Orion", one of the most amazing things Metallica's ever done. Easily a ten. Second best metal album ever, behind "Rust In Peace". This record changed my life when I first got into it... ok...so is there a rule that some dumb metal record get reviewed every cycle? This is one of the albums that changed my life in so many ways. Master Of Puppets was one of those records that helped 16 year old kids like me (at the time) Get By. Metallica (at that time) was just 4 regular guys ... one of Us. They, like Sinatra, definitely did it their way. It's hard for many "kids" (and I still consider myself one) to truly realize how groundbreaking and Important Metallica was. This is a good thing to listen to if you're speeding down a residential street at 90 mph high on speed and cocaine with your middle finger out your window. This album really kicks so much ass and one of my favorites! It's good to see some more Metallica on the site. My favorite album. this album rules fuck this band Good album. But I'd still rather listen to Megadeth anyday. Talk shit about Dave, but he wrote better songs, more intricate parts. And Marty Friedman rules. And Lars Ulrich is the worst drummer ever. |
