“So let me introduce myself” is the opening line of the first track “Up in Smoke,” and it might be a good time to get to know these Saskatchewan guys. Despite having played several sold out shows in Winnipeg and having a unique Southern hardcore sound, this is just the first release from the Holly Springs Disaster.

Vocalist Michael Froh shows his great range and ability for both melodic vocals and growls (one of the best I have heard) on each and every track, but none more than the first track/single “Up in Smoke.” The only downside to this song is the title's reference to the Eminem summer rap tour.

Their Southern-sounding guitars on tracks like “I D.A.R.E. David Bowie to Drive Drunk” are similar to that of Every Time I Die, whereas “My Pet Monster” provides a more catchy and hardcore sound. Despite the many references you can make of the band, they really have their own sound that makes for an enjoyable listen.

Motion Sickness Love is only an intro and seven other tracks, but I found myself wanting to listen to it over and over again. Definitely worth checking out, and I would love to hear a full-length release down the line soon.

Its fags like you that cant get past the title of the genre, why the fuck does it matter? titles and labels are so limiting. And its more then fine not to like them but keep your negative shit to yourselves, least their out doing something they enjoy doing, and despite you narrow minded fags a lot of people are digging their shit.

from what i listened to on their myspace, this band is a perfect case study in how fast, heavy music can absolutley bore the shit out of you.

not only do they suck but the lead singer is a douche bag, i saw them a few weeks ago and he crowd dived and broke his own microphone then blamed it on us and didnt play the rest of the set. what a cunt.

this band sucks. some guy on last.fm was claiming how they are so "epic". this is blatant, bland hardcore thats been done 100x over - only this is much worse.
