Coming from a small town, I haven't had the privilege to go to a ska-punk show before. So when I went to this show, I had no idea what to expect. And to be quite honest, whenever it is that I go to my next one, I'm pretty sure I'll still have no idea what I'm in for. There were girls in outrageous neon outfits, a gang of punks in denim vests and one gal who appeared to be emulating the bumblebee girl from that Blind Melon video, both in dress and in dance.

i've heard that the flatliners often cover "born in '69" by rocket from the crypt at their shows... can anyone confirm this? or better yet, link to a video/audio of it? I took a buddy of mine to see the Flatliners, and he said the singer looked like he belonged on the Disney Channel They played "Hal Johnson Smokes Cigarettes" in Edmonton, after someone requested it. They said that they never play it, so it was pretty cool to hear it. Flatliners were supposed to come to my town, but they had to cancel the show.. broke my heart. The Calgary date changed venues last minute, which resulted in a free show. No openers, just these two bands killing it. "Score is for the Rebel Spell, who I can't stop listening to." sweet review, darren. The Edmonton date of this tour ripped, even though there was maybe 30 people there, which included the local openers. The last song on the new album is a really awesome song, I'd have requested that too. |
