Bad Religion - New Maps of Hell (Deluxe)

Beautiful. That's all I really have to say. Imagine your favorite pop-punk band. Got it? Now, imagine that band with breathtaking harmonies, amazing guitar riffs and a violin. Yes, a violin. Also, imagine that band is also able to play intricate acoustic songs. Sounds pretty damn good doesn't it? IT SOUNDS GREAT! This album is the pinnacle of pop-punk music. All of those other bands out there trying to make it big by riding the Blink wave are getting too damn boring, but Yellowcard gives them a swift kick in the ass and tells them to move aside. Better yet, despite their upbeat, poppy style, only a couple songs on this album are actually about girls, and they blow away almost all other love songs on the market. This means that you get catchy-as-all-hell songs without feeling depressed and rejected afterward. The album features a few acoustic songs, which seem to be a staple in modern-day releases. However, unlike a lot of bands, they are actually well done, rather than just taking a regular song and playing it on an acoustic guitar. Don't be surprised if you hear this young Florida quartet's masterpiece popping up when people begin discussing the best albums of 2001.

Of course the album is aweomse. It's hard to beat Yellowcard. Classic! For a punk band to add a violin, its hard to get credit. But of course Yellowcard can make it work. They are fantastic!

the only reason why they stand out from the pop punk crap is because of the violin. they're ehhhh. but i gotta admit, powder is one hell of a song.

In today's market of pop-punk music its hard to find a good band. There are so many New Found Glory, Blink 182, and Good Charlotte rip-offs its almost sickening. Well than thank God for Yellowcard. This band has restrored my faith is pop-punk. This band take the typical pop-punk sound and add in cool vocal harmonies, great guitar riffing, and a violin. At first the violin can kinda be weird but then you realize it makes the music better. Also not all the lyrics are about girls, and the ones that are, are actually good. Buy this record now, its awesome!

    the story of yellowcard

yellowcard is on capitol now..this is what you will see in 5 years of VH1
    behind the music..

uh oh.. LP 15 year old girls = 5-10
i can see it now, LP from pussy pop band Yellowcard arrested on 150 counts of having sex with underage girls, 1 girl who wanted to remain nameless got knocked up,and is suing Yellowcard, for emotional and mental stress and a wrongful death suite, because the child was shot after it was born after doctors thought it was a rabid monkey of sorts.

Ryan Key will be singing his deep lyrics to the masses, forget the deep lyrics of bands now a days, as "Baby yea, yea, yea" is going to sweep the nation. Sara will still be a whore, but
    prices will rise.

Warren will remain looking like a troll. and will get sent to prison for attempting to bust LP out of prison..
meanwhile Mandy will still run the yellowcard message board, and get it from behind from Ben Dobson.

Ben will be committed to a mental institution where he will undergo surgery for always smiling, like someone has a finger stuck up his
    ass 24/7..

Sean will leave the band, and go solo. the violin will sweep the nation... while Ryan Key kills himself, after strangling a fan who asks him if
Craigs Brother is playing tonight..he gets in the van, and turns on a yellowcard cd, the worst of all suicides.. death by yellowcard

Sara will still be a whore.

Do you hate your friend who is in the frat too?

anyways, this is one of the best pop-punk CD's to come out this year second only to Inspection 12's "In Recovery" which is just incredible. anyways Yellowcard just got signed to Capitol REcords and I cant wait for their next CD.

Yellowcard has become one of my favorite bands. I saw them here open for Mad caddies and Rise Against but I had heard their music before I saw them live. I was so blown away by their performance onstage (maybe they were so energetic 'cause they were cold) but they definitely are one special band in my eyes. If anyone likes Yellowcard and the whole violin thing, listen to the band Back in the Day, (http://mp3.com/back_in_the_day) They have horns too. But anyway, back to YC.. I think they're a truly awesome band no matter what anyone else thinks.

I think Yellowcard is alright but nothing that great. Their lead singer is funny as hell but its not like their music is a reflection of how the actual band is. I've seen them a few times in my town since theyre from Jacksonville but this CD really sucks as to the whole pop-punk status.

Thats cool, my favorite band is the Ataris. I know I will get grilled for this but i dont see why people cut down bands for writting songs about girls. If its done right then it makes great lyrics for a song. The thing is I love music that I can relate to and in my life girls are a big part of it. -Rock
