Even though the Dropkick Murphys' recent major label debut may have been a stroke or two off par, they keep contributing in other ways, with former members branching off and forming new bands like freshly watered mogwai. First it was Mike McColgan and his Street Dogs who have gotten better with each album, and now former Murphys guitarist Rick Barton has teamed up with Sweeney Todd of the Lost City Angels and ex-members of On Broken Wings to form Everybody Out!

some lyrics may be simple, but too often complicated lyrics seem pretentious. sans sweeney todd, i dont know how far they can go. but hey, look at the murphys... or dont. i'd like this album better if i hadn't listened the hell out of their 2 EPs. is it weird to say a band is repeating itself on its first full length? Taang! is putting out new records still? I meant to give that 4 stars....not two. Love this album, nice review (although I would reference Dead Pets for Sweeny Todd before his brief stint in LCA, especially since Dead Pets is a little more in line with this style). I'm in agreement with you in that my only minor complaint is that the lyrics aren't great but there are about 5-6 standout tracks that manage to borrough there way into your brain. | Features
