The other night, Rancid kicked off their summer tour at the Rialto Theater in Tucson. I'll leave my intro short and just get into it.

haha people are hating this review so much. Just read the reviewers profile. Says you got into ska when you were 12. Sounds like that was maybe 2 or 3 years ago. isn't that actually 3 sentences? "After that I didn't recognize any other songs until they played a kickass cover of Musical Youth's "Pass the Dutchie" with their trumpet player (yes, a black dude) taking lead vocals.." It's kind of silly to look at the clothes that people wear and surmise that they and their band have not "grown at all since 1998." Interesting... Pretty Stoked to see them at the Fillmore in Denver. Only real downer about that show is that stupid MXPX is warming up for them. The new song is okay. It's nice to hear Matt singing again. score is for the use of "baby rancid" i wonder how rancid is with branden as their drummer? is he p[laying a little more technical? I actually went to this show because i like Rancid. Not because of our so called shitty "scene." Honestly, who cares what they looked like. If i want a commentary about what people look like, I'll borrow my wife's People magazine. every once*** Tucson sucks, but everyone and a while they get a good band through. Plus the Rock is a good venue. Good review. You willingly went to this show, there must not be much of a scene in Tucson. Setlist isn't in order, they actually closed with Radio. But they did open with Fall Back Down. Whoops, "needs" not "need's" What a strange set. Opening w/ Fall back down? Closing w/ Derby Jacket? And so much AOCTW? Need's alot more Let's Go yeah dude, totally. i learned today that heyska is a white guy This set needs way more 2000 s/t. "weak ass new song"? that's really stupid to say. Obviously if no one knows the song it may sound weak, plus when you hear a song for the first time you don't always immediately like it. Actually the songs that I like instantly are the songs I usually get over first. I wish they didn't play so much AOCTW.. it's probably their weakest album in my opinion. More 2000 and Life Won't Wait "When I walked, in the opening band, local psychobilly outfit the Dead Tones, were halfway through their set. This band is good -- a lot of talent up there. But all the songs sounded similar and I lost interest towards the end. It should be noted, though, that their female drummer can rock the fuck out. " | Features
