EnvyTransfovista DVD (2008)Temporary Residence Reviewer Rating: Contributed by: jamespastepunk (others by this writer | submit your own) Published on September 16th 2008
Much like Envy's music, the two-hour DVD Transfovista is hard to get a hold of or a feeling for, initially. When the promotional materials said that there would be tour footage, I expected that it would be selectable through the main menu. I was wrong -- I'd have to watch the live clips with the tour footage thrown into the mix. Like most tour footage, I assumed it would be throwaway gags of "look, we're in this city now" or maybe a history of the band. Again defying expectations, there's no introduction to the band -- you just go straight to the music, and other footage that didn't make the cut is in the mix as well.

I'd say save your money and grab the EP first. It's a great look at the band and you don't have to go all out and pay $10 for an LP. Plus track 3 is one of the best songs I've ever heard. Enjoy. Thinking about checking them out, where should i start? This band is worse than the Boredoms, the most appropriately named band of all time. I just moved to Korea and bought this, then realized my dvd player doesn't play region 2 dvds. Shit! Score's for me. needs more cowbell. i saw this a few months ago while smoking tons of pot and it gave me goosebumps all the time, such a beautiful well done DVD i can't even explain. so emotional at times it gets unbearable. watch it entirely while having a beer, with lights out and alone in your room, so you can get the experience. you'll thank me later. |

Bought this at the show tonight. Haven't watched it yet, but they were great live. They probably won't be back for a long time, it saddens me.
