What does one do with a record that's technically excellent, yet lacks any sort of emotional attachment? Quite a bucket of syrup, isn't it? These guys in Gravehaven certainly know what they're doing -- progressive rock in the vein of the Mars Volta, replete with similar guitar noodling, busy drum fills and extremely rangy vocals.

I'm in love with this band. Its not cookie - cutter. There are no commercial hooks. I've seen them live about a dozen times and they are phenomenal. ""quite a bucket of syrup, isn't it?" Bryne... giving a negative review? ""quite a bucket of syrup, isn't it?" It certainly looks like a prog rock album. This doesn't really belong here - I don't think this music is even tangentially related to "punk." Progressive rock was killed by punk. That's how it works. They say you can't judge a book by its cover...but this is an album, so its okay, right? "quite a bucket of syrup, isn't it?" | Features
