I’ve been battling some of the worst sickness in memorable years for the last couple days. My throat started swelling unexpectedly at Wednesday night’s Twins game, and thrashing about with Fucked Up and openers Bring That Shit later in the evening probably didn’t help. By Thursday morning I was barely able to breathe, and as I’m typing this it hasn’t gotten a whole lot better. But even though I felt like crap, I decided there was no way I could miss World/Inferno Friendship Society.

*blushes* Spalmer, is GlassPipe as good looking as I imagined? Spalmer, is GlassPipe as good looking as I imagined? i totally saw you GlassPipeMurder, I remember you sitting on the stage reading the Onion before the show. I was the tired looking guy in a green sweater with a tired looking girl sitting behind the left barrier thing. lame they didnt play lets steal everything. they didnt play that in Chicago either. was Franz at this show? lame they didnt play lets steal everything. they didnt play that in Chicago either. was Franz at this show? Ian -- you know how to waltz? The fact that W/IFS isn't Bigger Than Jesus is still surprising to me. Then again, part of me likes having them be a "Best-Kept Secret." I mean, they were good at what they did, but it's just not my thing... the guitarist made some cool feedback noises, though, to be fair "Easy Action was pretty pathetic, I thought 40 year old men with gray hair would outgrow the IM SO PISSED ARGH thing." I saw this show in Oberlin, Ohio last night and it was a fucking blast. Everyone danced. Nobody was reserved. I waltzed with a stranger. Twas a good fucking night. I think I pinpointed the WIFS crowd, at least the shows I've been to--"theater geeks." score is for the fact they played Jerusalem Boys Was at this show, was surprised at how few people were there. Easy Action was pretty pathetic, I thought 40 year old men with gray hair would outgrow the IM SO PISSED ARGH thing. Also was disappointed at no Weimar, but good show regardless. Why didn't I go to this? I was in town that weekend!! I think I pinpointed the WIFS crowd, at least the shows I've been to--"theater geeks." Love the Inferno. Come back to FL! |
