During my first listen to this EP by Germany's World Collapse, I did not want to like it. It has many ingredients that, when thrown together, are the type of thing that I generally can't stand. It's got hardcore parts, electronics, intense emotional vocals and lyrics inspired by new wave, and the layout features some way-too-serious pictures of the band looking like detectives from the 1920s complete with ties, suspenders and gloves. On top of that I couldn't figure out why an overtly hardcore label like Reaper would put this out.

You're more annoying than I could ever be. I was actually thinking about that when i wrote that out and i thought "..no, there can't possibly be someone that annoying on here..".. Givemeamuseumandillfillit likes Slipknot. Anything New Wave is supercheesy. You know... this surprised me. Their gimmick sounds little like a gimmick; it's very well blended and surprisingly focused, and I commend them for that. With that said, I don't particularly like it. This record is an experiment to see just how fucking gullible hardcore kids are. Band fucking sucks this shit sounds like if the killers fucked throwdown in the ass during nazi era germany and had a terrible-sounding butt baby. |
