Latin for Truth seem like one of the latest additions in the hardcore-inspired, New Found Glory-style pop-punk craze -- I know, I've been reviewing a lot of these bands lately, but someone's gotta do it and I'd like to think I draw pretty fair assesements with them all. (And believe me, there's more to come.)

Haven't heard this but I feel exactly the same way than the reviewer about Daggermouth, Four Year Strong and A Day To Remember. Haven't heard this yet, but Four Year Strong disappoints me. One minute they've got a sweet little riff and cool rhythms, the next, they've given it up for a sticky pop melody. I love that you feel the same way I do about Four Year Strong. I'm astounded when my friends with otherwise good tastes tell me they like them. Cringeworthy indeed. I'm gonna go listen to the Such Gold demo again over checking this out. I enjoy this album more than the other pop/hardcore bands. But I agree, the growls go overboard. Get rid of the few annoying parts and their next release could be pretty good. Yeah, that growling vocal part on Lying For A Living is actually just a person in another band the guys were friends with. They just let him do a guest spot on the album. buildings 8=(''')=D This cannot be good... agreed on the growls, they need to stop doing that, and they would be a pretty tight band the backup singer sounds like he's channeling skinhead rob. |
