Love You Moon is Rx Bandits' frontman Matt Embree's side outlet, an unsurprisingly stripped-down affair that emphasizes his howled sociopolitical commentary but lays it over lively acoustic guitars. Waxwane is full of folk-quasi-punk and vaguely bluesy tones, creating a creative mix that might not mesmerize as well as RxB's intricate electric work but is a solid listen nonetheless.

Matt has such a great voice. I haven't heard this, but will definitely check it out now. I think it's actually required of all punk frontmen to start acoustic folk side projects now. it's definitely not as varied as rx records, but it's great just to hear how raw it is, it's all analog and it sounds so much better, curious as to why it's not on wax as it's all analog, does anyone have an extra copy of the resignation on vinyl btw? i had low expectations for this little project, but it took me by surprise when i heard it. it's just really pretty, and like to hear embree's voice when it's not surrounded by the clutter of most rx bandits songs. overall i approve |
