Man Overboard list the Clash, the Anniversary, Hey Mercedes, Weezer, Piebald and the Promise Ring on their MySpace next to "Influences." In an odd discrepancy, they mention a certain other three on the one-sheet for their Hung Up on Nothing EP: Blink-182, Taking Back Sunday and Saves the Day. Mentioning those latter bands sound like common ground for any pop-punk band formed 2003 and onward, and it's easy to guess which of these groups Man Overboard's sound truly tends to trend towards.

Bangarang was probably going to be a pretty good band.. This one is just bad, however. I feel pretty much the same way after seeing them live. Not great, not horrible. Just kind of there. I think there's potential for greater things down the line, though. Plus they're homeboys with Transit, so they're cool by association. I really have to give these guys credit. now, all pop punk bands want to chug and play D-beat stuff. Man Overboard reminds me of a time when pop punk wasn't trying to be hardcore. That's nothing: "truly tends to trend towards." I am going to make sure to use that word once a day. Score's for the word 'perfunctory'. | Features
