Comparable to the Starting Line, I think this band has the most potential out of all the bands in the general PA area. I have seen this band live many times and they do put on a great show. After receiving their first EP at one of their shows I immediately became a fan. The EP had 4 songs on it. Better Off That Way, the first track, was definately radio material (and from what I hear, has been played on the radio). It was very catchy and high-paced with tons of energy. The second track Looking Forward To Failure was pure power. The guitar solo after the second chorus blew me away. I miss guitar solos. Not many bands do them good. 3-Sum showed me otherwise! The 3rd track was called Mute. Perhaps the poppiest song on the CD, this is a fun song. The last song was called Long Road To Nowhere. I assume this song was not recorded in a studio because of its quality. This song is their best song in my opinion. The guitar part in the verses was great and very original. The chorus kicked in with driving distorted guitars. It blew me away. The breakdown of this song was also great. The bassline and drum machine effect combined really made this song that much more interesting. This song is amazing. I was very impressed with the CD despite its virtually unnoticable flaws. I look forward to more material by 3-Sum.

Yes, this is by far the most retarded band name ever. They should change it to 74-Blink. And this line in the review made me laugh: "I miss guitar solos. Not many bands do them good." Is this a review? -oldpunker- I will never, ever listen to this band for the simple fact that they have the absolute worst name I have ever heard. 3-sum sounds like they ripped off sum 41's name, a shitty band at that. |
