Gifts from EnolaFrom Fathoms (2009)The Mylene Sheath Reviewer Rating: Contributed by: Brian (others by this writer | submit your own) Published on July 7th 2009
Gifts from Enola compose some stormy, watery post-rock with From Fathoms, their second full-length. That's not to say this is a watered-down representation of the style, but rather the sort that cascades, flows and abrupts unpredictably to both immediate and lasting effect.

Downloaded it for free from Gimmesound but bought it anyway for the artwork and higher quality... this album is so friggin' good. I don't think any of the songs have beaten out Aves yet, but Thawed Horizon seems to have potential to do so. I guess I don't agree with the 'front-loaded' judgment you gave, I think it's very consistent throughout. Better than Loyal Eyes Betrayed the Mind. Band gets better and better after every release. Oh man this "aves" song on their myspace (first one I've listened to so far) is phenomenal... I want this. That album art is beautiful. | Features
