A summer on the so called “punk rock summer camp”, the Warped tour seems to have had a considerable effect on Flogging Molly, as Drunken Lullabies sees them playing up their punk side and stowing away the ballads more than on their debut, Swagger. And for the better too – Drunken Lullabies is a stronger and more consistent album. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
ooooook there buddy, all he said was one song sounded the same, which is not true, however they do sound pretty similar. But yeah, even if they have a song or two that sounds similar to an obvious influential band's song, who cares? they're a truely good band. I've bin following the pogues for the past 10 years I know then inside and out, and saying that the song another bag of bricks is a rip off is just insulting. it may sound similar, but what about all the new stuff that has been comming out? you can't sit there and tell that blink 182 and new found glory sound the same... or how about the ataris? or simple plan and jimmy eat world?? you bitch about one song while thier is a tonne of other rip-offs occuring. Flogging Molly is one of only a handfull of bands that can make every song sound different from the last! so instead of bitching about one song give some respect for the hard work and talent that these guys have shown! Matt hensley! I love you! the FM song "Bag of Bricks" sounds EXACTLY like the Pogues song "Turkish Song of the Damned." Homage is one thing, blatantly ripping off is another. nice review, great CD (from what i've heard). can't wait to get it. Your review is up, you can quit bitching now... |
