Like Stay What You Are and Career Suicide, the Bomb's Speed Is Everything carries kind of a misnomer with its title. Though the band's been noted for reprising Naked Raygun frontman Jeff Pezzati in a (somewhat) newer role, it's also been cited as playing less hardcore-influenced than NR's most speedy years but more punchy than their power-pop period. And the newest full-length, Speed Is Everything affirms it just a little bit more.

so-so album. Seemed bland to me. It was cool to hear Bob Nanna tho. This album is def in my top 10 of 2009, so good. the cover is too positive Career Suicide was career suicide. I feel like I should like this....I just don't. Fab! One of the best records of the year so far! Might wanna add that "Space Age Love Song" is a cover, hence the guitar sound. Fits in quite well with the record though! a great band...with an extremely generic name. I like this record a lot. Top five material fo' sho. very, very good stuff. One of my favorites of the year. I really liked it. score is for "timing is everything". oooh, a Bob Nanna guest vocal appearance, and (judging from the first comment) J. Robbins producing? Sounds interesting...I may have to check this out at some point. Decent stuff, I find it weird that almost everything J. Robbins has a hand in has a Jawbox feel to it. |
