The Gaslight Anthem / Tim Barrylive in Toronto (2010)live show Reviewer Rating: Contributed by: againstmatt (others by this writer | submit your own) Published on July 30th 2010
I talk a lot of bands that have been successful and have been on a roll lately, but I truly mean it when I say the Gaslight Anthem is one of the most successful bands out there in the last few years. They released their debut album in late 2007, and have just put out their third album, American Slang, and it sold twenty-seven THOUSAND copies in its first week. It's great to see that of New Jersey's finest rock 'n' roll bands have been spreading their infectious music all over the world.

Anyone else get We're getting a divore, you keep the diner? Boston did. i appreciate your experience and you trying to give some good background detail, but please proof read your reviews. saw them in detroit the next night. bummed i missed the menzingers, and my douche-cunt friends made me leave half way through the Hold Steady. good show though. Still bummed that i missed this show. Springsteen. Chicago got all of Senor and the Queen? Minny only got Blue Jeans and White T-Shirts. A great song, but I would have traded a couple songs off American Slang for Senor or Elvis... I wish this tour came around here. I never liked when singers act out the lyrics they're singing, always gives me douchechills It's cool that they play a slightly different set every night. In Chicago, they played The Senor and The Queen front to back. I had a way better time than I thought I would, even if I think that they should cut back on the ballads a bit. I was at this show, and while I thoroughly enjoyed it I think my attendance at Gaslight show's has now run it's course. No fault to the band either, they're just drawing fans from all over the place which makes for an unfortunate amount overly territorial people in the crowd. I found it impossible to get to both the bar and the part of the crowd where people were dancing. The venues are only gonna keep getting bigger from here and I just can't enjoy a show to the same degree when I'm limited to the "arms-crossed-indie-stare" as the only acceptable form of audience behaviour. I guess I could just quit drinking... Was this review ever proof-read? Seeing them tomorrow. I can't wait, but they're not playing with the Menzingers. They are a great band, everyone on here should check them out. And the bonus track is called "She Loves You" and it's only available download. I think it's definitely worth the $.99, and I think it should have been on the album as well. Great great song. It's the itunes bonus track. *bonus Whats this binus track you talk about? My copy of American Slang has 10 tracks. Is there a different version? | Features
