Caravels unleash an incredibly dense and yet thoroughly interesting, non-specific blend of brooding, modern hardcore, '90s screamo temperament and gloomy, lumbering post-rock elements with their five-song EP, Floorboards. It's a progressive and circuitous sound offering few hooks to satiate early or even later listens, but it's a rewarding investment all the same.

This band rules. This EP rules. So glad I got to see/play with them not a new band, they have a bunch of other e.p's, but nonetheless, they are the sweetest dudes with the sweetest tunes. They came through a couple months ago. 10x better live than recorded and that's saying a lot. This new wave of hype screamo needs to move over for these guys. These guys are awesome, and so is this album. Floorboards isn't the only Great piece of work these guys have produced.. they have a few earlier EPs that are worth checking out. But the Floorboards EP is really where these kids shine. I believe this album is what Thrice wish they did with their "Fire" installation of the Alchemy Index. This sounds very fucking cool. | Features
