I'm 32, live in my hometown of San Diego, & work in the theme park/zoological industry. Some favorite bands: Rocket from the Crypt, Hot Snakes, Alkaline Trio, Smoking Popes, Big Black, Jawbreaker, and T.S.O.L. I have a BA in history. I was working on my MA for several years & wrote about half of a thesis on punk rock and alternative music, but abandoned it mostly because I lost interest in being a student. Instead, I write for Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:IllaZilla). I frequently write articles about bands & albums & often use 'org stories to source them, so I check here every day for news. I also submit news from time to time related to bands I keep tabs on. I lurked here for years but didn't really start making submissions or comments until sometime in 2007. I don't comment often because I usually don't have much to say unless it's about an act that really interests me, hence I'm not really a "regular". But I'm around. Oh, and my username comes from an old Vandals song.
