Steel Train debut full-length set for release

Steel Train's debut full-length, Twilight Tales From The Prairies Of The Sun, has been set for an April 19th release via Drive-Thru. The followup to the band's EP of covers, 1969, and EP of originals, For You My Dear, both released in 2003, was produced by Stephen Barncard (Grateful Dead, Crosby Stills & Nash) and recorded at Prairie Sun Studio in northern California. The ranch "was the perfect backdrop for Steel Train to explore their unique style of music that effortlessly flows from rock, country, bluegrass, funk, Latin, and jam."

Special guests on the album include "steel pedal pioneer" Gene Parsons (Flying Burrito Brothers, Byrds) and "famed mandolinist" Dave Grisman (Grateful Dead). Artwork was headed by John Craig (Smashing Pumpkins).

The band also has some dates around the continental U.S. coming up. You can click Read More to check those out, as well as the tracklisting.
