Tours: Many more dates from Bad Religion; ex-drummer's memoir to be made into a movie

Bad Religion has announced many more dates in the US and Canada in support of their recent full length, The Empire Strikes First. The band was also set to perform at the Unite the United show, but that benefit concert has since been cancelled.

In related news, Wrecking Crew : The Really Bad News Griffith Park Pirates, the memoir of former Bad Religion drummer John Albert is now scheduled to be made into a film by Paramount Pictures.

The book, which was recommended by Bad Religion's Brett Gurewitz in a recent mass email, is based on Albert, a drummer and ex-junkie, who chronicled his experience playing with the Griffith Park Pirates. It "documents the transformation of the team -- which includes rogues, rockers and struggling Hollywood hopefuls -- as they find that baseball's the thread that connects them."

Bad Religion will be joined on the tour by Anti-Flag and Pennywise.
