Belle and Sebastian prepare to release "Life In Pursuit", tour to follow

Belle and Sebastian will be releasing their 8th album The Life Pursuit on February 7th. The band describes it as "the most forceful record of their career" and was produced by Tony Hoffer. Vocalist Stuart Murdoch compared this stage of their career to the Rolling Stones, calling both "late bloomers."

Now this may seem extremely presumptuous and all that, but a boy has to dream. It seems to me that they started making some of their best records around that time. I add that to my mental list of groups that had been kicking around for a while, but somehow still had to make their decisive move (Stones, Bee Gees, REM). Less for the Stones, more for REM.

You can grab an mp3 of "Another Sunny Day" from Matador Records.
The band released Push Barman To Open Old Wounds last year, which compiled the band's seven Jeepster EPs and singles, their last proper LP Dear Catastrophe Waitress in 2003 and will be performing at SXSW this year.

They'll be touring with The New Pornographers starting at the end of February to support the release of The Life Pursuit. Read More for the tour dates.
