Eric Axelson leaves Maritime

Maritime bassist Eric Axelson announced that he is leaving the band. Axelson stated that,

After a little more than two years of playing in the band, I decided it was time for me to call it a day on touring. I've been on the road a ton in the past 7 years of my life and wanted to stay closer to home. It's been nothing but fun playing with Maritime and we're all on good terms, I just wanted them to be able to tour as much as they felt necessary without me holding them back.

Replacing Axelson will be Decibully bassist Justin Klug who will hit the stage with the band for a short tour in March.

Maritime recently signed to Flameshovel records who will be releasing the band's sophomore effort, We, the Vehicles, on April 4. The album, which will feature 11 new tracks, will be the follow up to 2004's Glassfloor. Tracks from it can be streamed on their website.

The band has some dates lined up in March prior to the release and you can click Read More for those.
