Mogwai adds new single, more US, Europe dates; scoring film about Zinedine Zidane
With their upcoming full length, Mr.Beast due out March 6th, Scottish post-rock act Mogwai has announced more dates in the US and Europe. The record is due out on Matador in the United States and on the band's own PIAS in Europe.
Today, the band launched a new single, "Glasgow Mega-Snake" a live recording from a London performance this past January. The track is available exclusively through download services and can found here on iTunes and also here from 7 Digital. The studio version of the track will appear on Mr.Beast.
The band has also taken on a new project, they will be scoring a film about French footballer Zinedine Zidane. The film, to be directed by fellow Glaswegian Douglas Gordon is currently in post production, the film follows the player and documents a real match between Madrid and Villareal in April 2005. The band is recording the must at their Castle of Doom studio in Glasgow, and expect to see the film premiere at Cannes in May.
