New projects, bands for Troubled Hubble members - DVD, new bands, more

Members of chicago-based Troubled Hubble have announced some information about currently projects from members of the former Lookout! Records act.

Guitarist Josh Miller had this to say:

Singer/guitarist Chris Otepka has devoted much of his time to Heligoats, a solo/acoustic project he had begun when not on the road with Troubled Hubble. Chris recently released The Sapling Sessions, a disc of demos and basement recordings that span most of Otepka's musical career. Otepka will be recording this spring with world renowned drummer Kenny Aronoff, who has worked with artists ranging from The Smashing Pumpkins to Meatloaf to Rod Stewart. You can visit the Heligoats on MySpace here.

Drummer Nate Lanthrum has been busy editing hundreds of hours of video footage in order to compile a career-spanning Hubble DVD. No release date or information has been set on the project. However, expect footage from several tours, studio antics, humorous moments from the road and possibly their entire final performance from Schuba's in Chicago in September 2005.

Bassist Andrew Lanthrum, along with brother Nate, have formed a new group called Doctor? Doctor!, which will be debuting live in June. The band is rounded out by vocalist/guitarist Jim Hanke (of Milwaukee band El Oso), guitarist Corey Willis (of Illinois group Inspector Owl) and classically-trained pianist Nina Jones. Visit the band's MySpace page here for future shows and recordings.

Guitarist Josh Miller is currently living in Chicago and working at Northwestern University, in Evanston. He is a webmaster as well as research/publication support for the Department of Managerial Economics and Decision Sciences.

The quartet released a number of full lengths and EPs including 2002's Penturbia and 2005's Making Beds in a Burning House.
