D.R.I. cancels tour. Guitarist Spike Cassidy in cancer treatment

Beer City Records has confirmed a report made last night by Blabbermouth.net that punk / metal crossover act D.R.I. has cancelled their upcoming U.S. tour. Guitarist Spike Cassidy's ongoing battle with colon cancer was revealed as the cause for the cancellation. A report from the band's booking agent states that Cassidy was operated on three weeks ago, however "sadly the concern is that [the cancer] spread and the medical treatment is [required immediately] and it prohibits any touring for the remainder of the year at least."

Dirty Rotten Imbeciles' U.S. tour was scheduled to start in Seattle in late May. It was to support their Live at CBGB's DVD and CD.
