William Elliott Whitmore album set for release

William Elliott Whitmore has announced plans to release his next full length, Song of the Blackbird on September 5th. The album follows his 2005 album, Ashes to Dust and is due out on Southern Records.

Whitmore is described as:

a tattooed, 28 year-old farmer from Iowa who sounds more
like a rusty, gritty, world-weary 82, in the best way possible. His
songs are visceral, American gothic travelogues of dusty back roads and
the murky waters of the Mississippi. Whitmore also explores the human
psyche - his sparse, growling folk waxes on isolation, death, loss and
redemption and actually stems from a young love of punk.

William spent 2005 and 2006 touring with everyone from Against Me! to Buckwheat Zydeco and will join like-minded country/punk act Lucero this fall.
