Streams: Tim Barry "Rivanna Junction"

Tim Barry is no stranger to the worlds of punk and hardcore; he's handled vocal duties for dixie-core legends Avail for over a decade. After moving to Richmond, VA from the DC suburbs in the early 90's, Tim began to learn and appreciate the culture of southern living, which is clearly represented in his debut solo effort, Rivanna Junction.

Tim's music takes a break from Avail's trademark southern hardcore sound, and instead offers a rich combination of folk, bluegrass, rock and a little punk attitude which can easily draw comparisons to the music of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and even Woodie Guthrie. These styles formulate an incredible array of songs and stories, and with the broad instrumentation of steel guitar, piano, dobro and violin; the end result is an honest effort from an honest man.
