Weezer cover is "Not a Joke"

After their upcoming album's bizarre album cover surfaced last week, many have speculated if the strange artwork is some sort of elaborate hoax.

According to a report from MTV, it's not a joke and the album cover with its "suburban cowboy" imagery is actually real. The band's publicist explained:

Yes, that's absolutely the cover, t's what they chose. They looked at a bunch of mockups, and that's the one they decided to go with. It's not a joke.
