The Killingtons break up

In an email sent to the band's mailing list, the sometimes-rocking, almost-always-on-the-rocks band was pronounced officially dead. Singer J.K. said the following:
"I'm sure you have been hearing alot of rumors lately regarding the band's existence and what everyone is doing at this point... [H]ere's the most current news...At this point the Killingtons are on hiatus most likely permanently. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us at anytime over the past six years."
The letter goes on to talk about the band members' new projects and also states that the band's webpage, TheKillingtons.com, will remain up and will feature a 6-year photo retrospective shortly. To read the whole letter, click "READ MORE."

hello everyone,
I'm sure you have been hearing alot of rumors lately regarding the band's
existence and what everyone is doing at this point. Some of you have seen
this letter on our board, but again I would like to apologize for the lack of
updates. I guess the band just needed some time to put things into
perspective. Well, anyway here's the most current news…At this point the
Killingtons are on hiatus most likely permanently. We would like to thank
everyone who has supported us at anytime over the past six years. There are
many reason why the Killingtons are taking this very long break, but we won't
bore you with the details and it's kind of personal anyway. This kind of
crap happens all the time with bands so I'm sure it's not a shocker. What is
important is the respect each band member has for one another and our
futures. Currently, Mitch is working hard in his studio recording new music
and pairing up with other artists such as Hunter from AFI and Josh Freeze
from a Perfect Circle. Mitch is also working diligently for Nitro Records
and for God almighty. Matt is busy studying, doing keg stands and avoiding
authorities. Sean has joined forces with me [J.K., the tall guy] in our new
band called "K. LUNA". We are headlining the Galaxy Theatre on May 24th and
our album should be in stores this summer so keep a look out, hopefully it
won't suck. Get a taste of the new rock on "The Best of O.C." comp that hits
all stores mid April on TankFarm records (www.tankfarmrecords.com) …Well I
guess thats it for now…This website will remain functional for the next few
years with news of the bands whereabouts as well as our fansite and
thekillingtons.net. A photo retrospective of the past 6 years will be added
to the photo page so keep an eye out…If you feel up to it, drop us a line,
say your goodbyes, give us your thoughts, share a memory, etc. on our message
board or in an email
Thank you all
Sincerely,
J.K.
