Toasters frontman starts Megalith Records

Toasters frontman Bucket and Jump Up Records head Chuck Wren have unveiled
plans to collaborate on a new double CD compilation titled "Still Standing,"
a joint release between Jump Up and Bucket's new label Megalith Records. The
compilation aims to unite artists nationwide on a release celebrating the
resilience of ska music in the face of the recent collapse of that indie scene.
Megalith Records plans to use a grassroots approach to foster and support
local scenes. This will include a national framework allowing for better touring
opportunities and exposure for local ska acts. This is to rekindle the support
that " was frittered away in the 'every man for himself'
atmosphere of 1997-2000."
Submissions are now being accepted by Bucket,
Chuck and Jeremy
Patton
(Toasters webmaster) from active bands playing original (non cover)
songs. The deadline is August 31st.
If all goes well, look for Megalith to re-release the entire Toasters back
catalog with extra tracks and more. A DVD release is in the works also. No word if other releases from Bucket's now defunct Moon records will be reissued.
