Savage Republic reunion and boxed set
Los Angeles tribal post-punk band Savage Republic are reuniting for a week of
shows in support of their 4 CD Complete Studio Box Set on Mobilization
Recordings. Tickets are on sale for the shows, which run from November 13-17
in Los Angeles, Portland, New York, Chicago and San Francisco. Click below for
the tour dates. These are the first live appearances from the band since
February 25th 1989. The original band members will be joined by Man Is The
Bastard drummer Joel Connell for the shows.
The band hand picked the openers for every show. L.A. features a "class of 80
reunion" with Mike Watt and the Secondmen, The Urinals (AKA: 100 Flowers), The Human Hands and
punk iconoclast/DJ Brendan Mullen (author of "We Got The Neutron Bomb: The Untold Story of Los Angeles Punk" and "Lexicon Devil: The Short Life of Darby
Crash") at the L.A. Knitting Factory. In San Francisco they will headline the
Beyond The Pale festival playing alongside Neurosis, Jarboe, Low, Steel Pole Bathtub, The Phantom Limbs, Robert Rich and Pleasure Forever at the DNA Lounge. That show
will be broadcast live online via KFJC 89.7 FM. The New York City appearance will feature the Wharton Tiers Ensemble and
Tone.Â
